Aeromech Engineering Inc. Adds 5-Axis Machining Center

San Luis Obispo, CA – AeroMech Engineering announced today that it had completed the installation of a new 5-Axis large capacity machining center. The new machine, produced by Diversified Machining Systems of Gainseville Texas, features a machining capacity of 15’ by 10’ by 4’. In addition to providing simultaneous 5-axis machining of large tooling such as molds and fixtures, the DMS machine also provides a coordinate measuring capability.

Tom Brake, AeroMech’s Chief Operating Officer said, “ The new DMS machining center represents a significant investment on our part to increasing AeroMech’s ability to quickly produce high quality, sophisticated unmanned systems. The machine’s large size and integrated coordinate measuring capabilities will allow us to produce much larger single piece tools for manufacturing vehicle structures and also provide new capabilities to perform complete checks of assembled vehicles and verify the geometric integrity of the aircraft before first flight or delivery to the customer.”
